Danny Simpson - Newcastle United News

If you were in Alan Pardew’s shoes tomorrow afternoon when travelling to Wigan, who would you pick in your starting XI’s to take on the Latics? Do we stick with the same team that battered Stoke last time out? Does Demba Ba return to a central role? Who plays in defence? Leave a comment below and have your say!

Here’s what I’ve come up with:

Simpson – Williamson – Coloccini – Santon

Cabaye – Tiote – Jonas

Ben Arfa               – Cisse –                         Ba

It’s daft to change a winning side when they’re playing like this, so I’d stick with the same team that brushed aside the Potters last time out. Ba would ideally like to play down the middle in Cisse’s place, but I’d carry on like this until Cisse stops scoring goals, which doesn’t look like any time soon. Ba will come good again and will likely switch centrally if the Geordies are winning, something which will please the former West Ham man.

Davide Santon is growing into life in English football and is keeping Ryan Taylor out of the side on current form. The former Wigan played will be desperate to play against his old team but Santon is more likely to keep his place, with Taylor making a substitute appearance if needed.
