Yohan Cabaye - Newcastle United Football News

If you were in Alan Pardew’s shoes tomorrow afternoon, who would you pick in your starting XI to take on Swansea City at St James’ Park? Who plays at the back if Coloccini and Williamson don’t recover from injury? Who plays up front with Ba? Who replaces Gosling in midfield? Leave a comment below and have your say!

Here’s what I’ve come up with:

Simpson – Williamson – Coloccini – Santon

Obertan – Cabaye – Tiote – Gutierrez

Ben Arfa

Obviously if Coloccini and Williamson are fit then they should go straight back into the side, we struggled against Norwich and it was obvious we had four full-backs in defence. We don’t need that again!

Tiote will replace Gosling in midfield should he be fit, otherwise I’d play Alan Smith in there and hope he can rescue something from his Newcastle career.

Ben Arfa sat out last week against the Canaries but I’d put him in the team tomorrow, with Swansea’s leaky defence susceptible to his clever playmaking ability.

That’s what I think, do you agree? Leave a comment below and have your say!
