If you were in Alan Pardew’s shoes tomorrow afternoon, who would you pick for the game at home to QPR? Does Papiss Cisse start despite his lack of goals? Does Shola Ameobi come back into the side? Is Gabriel Obertan in line for a start? Leave a comment below and have your say!

Here’s what I’ve come up with:

Krul

Simpson Williamson Coloccini Santon

Obertan Anita Tiote Gutierrez

Ba Cisse

I’d go with a 4-4-2 formation, with Gabriel Obertan coming in on the right wing. Ben Arfa is injured and that gives us the chance to go with our two best strikers up front together, without worrying about fitting Ben Arfa into his best position.

It’s a toss up between Cisse and Shola Ameobi, but with the potentially weak defence facing us, I’d give Cisse a full 90 minutes with a partner to see what he can do. His form is woeful at the minute, but he may well come good as the new year approaches.

The same back four and goalkeeper as always, providing no warm up or last minute injuries.

Without Cabaye & Ben Arfa there is no creativity from midfield, so 4-4-3 is not really an option; we have to play 4-4-2 to accommodate Ba & Cisse & need players to deliver balls into the box from wide

Simpson does not look like hew will sign a new contract and although good at defending, offres nothing going forward

Williamson unfortunately is out of his depth, he struggles defensively, panic under pressure and cannot pass a ball to savew his life

    How's about

    Krul

    Santon Perch Coloccini Guitierez

    Obertan Anita Tiote Marveaux

    Cisse Ba

Simpson and jonas just don’t offer anything in my opinion. Santon attacking on the right wing with marveax on the left in a 451/433 will get Cisse scoring again. Pardew will just stick with simpson at right back and jonas left wing creating nothing for the strikers in a 442 as usual
