If you were in Alan Pardew’s shoes tomorrow afternoon when Liverpool arrive at St James’ Park, who would be in your first team to play the Reds? Who plays at centre-back in place of the injured Fabricio Coloccini? Who starts up front? Which formation should Newcastle go for? Leave a comment below and have your say!

Here’s what I’ve come up with:

Debuchy Williamson Taylor Santon

Cabaye Sissoko

Ben Arfa Gouffran

I’d go with a 4-3-3 formation that has worked well in recent weeks, most notably against Cardiff last time out. Ben Arfa would return on the right wing where he can expose Liverpool’s 3-5-2 formation, while Remy would continue down the middle in my team in place of the out-of-form Papiss Cisse.

As for the centre-back situation, I would put Steven Taylor in the team if he was anywhere near fit, with Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa remaining on the bench. If Taylor isn’t fit, the Frenchman would have to come back into the side.

Anita would be streets ahead of Cheick Tiote in the anchor man role as his form has been far better than the Ivorian’s.
