If you were in Alan Pardew’s shoes today, who would you pick in your starting line-up for the game against Man United? Who replaces Moussa Sissoko in midfield? Who plays up front? Leave a comment and tell us your teams!

Here’s what I’ve come up with:

Elliot

Yanga-Mbiwa – Williamson – Coloccini – Dummett

Santon – Anita – Tiote – Ben Arfa

De Jong – Cisse

I’d set up to attack Man Utd, with two strikers and two wingers to provide the service. Sissoko’s injury leaves a problem which I’d solve with Davide Santon on the right of midfield. The Italian struggles defensively sometimes but looks good going forward, so playing him on the right wing could be a good move.

Hatem Ben Arfa would also start in my team, on the left side of midfield. He’ll roam around and create chances for the front two and the two defensive-minded central midfielders can cover him when he neglects his defensive responsibilites.

Two strikers pick themselves up front but I’d like to see Adam Armstrong given a chance in front of the St James’ Park crowd. Rolando Aarons may also make the squad, a quick winger that could impact the game if Santon isn’t suited to that role.

What do you think? Leave a comment and have your say!

    Sammy A, Tiote, Anita

    Ben Arfa

Cisse (and unfortunately) De Jong would have had Adam Armstrong if he wasn’t with England u17’s

yet again our strength in depth is questioned due to lack of spending by the FCB
