If you were in Alan Pardew’s shoes for the final time this sesaon tomorrow when Newcastle travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool, who would make your starting XI? Who would play up front for the Magpies? Who would be in defence? Would Hatem Ben Arfa be involved? Leave a comment below and have your say!

Here’s what I’ve come up with:

Krul

Debuchy – S.Taylor – Coloccini – Haidara

Anita – Tiote

Ben Arfa – Sissoko – Remy

De Jong

With our defence, there seems little point in trying to defend against Liverpool. Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge are simply too good to contain for 90 minutes, so I’d put the emphasis on attacking tomorrow.

I’d make a change to the back four, with Steven Taylor replacing Mike Williamson. Williamson played well against Suarez earlier in the season but Taylor is full of confidence after coming on and scoring last week and could be worth starting, especially with him having a point to prove.

Two holding midfielders should have a chance of stopping the likes of Jordan Henderson and Raheem Sterling, while Moussa Sissoko would play a key role in keeping close to Steven Gerrard just in front of the Liverpool back four.

Loic Remy would play from the left in the team, allowing him to cut inside and trouble both Glen Johnson and the Liverpool centre-backs, while De Jong could occupy a centre-forward role, where he made his reputation as one of Holland’s brightest young players just a couple of years ago.

Ben Arfa should get the nod, but he won't. Then should Sissoko takes his place and Anita get a start.
Shola for the last 30 minutes.
