Cheik Tiote - Newcastle news

Who would you start for Newcastle tomorrow against Arsenal? Who plays up front? Do we stick with a 4-4-2? Does Williamson keep his place in defence? Leave a comment telling us what you think below and have your say!

Here’s what we’ve come up with:

Harper

Simpson – Coloccini – Williamson – Enrique

Barton – Guthrie – Tiote – Nolan – Gutierrez

Best

I’d go with five in midfield and rely on Nolan supporting the front man. I’d choose Best over Ranger because Ranger looked poor in the Fulham debacle and is better coming off the bench.

Guthrie has played decently and deserves to keep his place because there’s no real case of dropping him, seeing as though there’s no one else to come in!

Williamson must keep his place in defence because we haven’t got anyone else to play there and even if Campbell was fit, I wouldn’t fancy him marking Robin Van Persie!

Gutierrez needs to put in a performance sometime soon because he’s been distinctly average all season and looks as though he knows he’s going to be in the team every week and not giving 100% as a result. I just hope he doesn’t wait until he’s dropped when Ben Arfa returns to do so.

Hopefully the team can play like we know they can and cause Arsenal some problems like we did at the Emirates earlier in the season. It’s a tall order, but we’re unpredictable and anything can happen! Haway the lads!

If I was you, I'd play that Ranger lad. He was too quick and strong for us when we played you up there in the Carling cup this season.

Good luck tomorrow lads, hope it's a good game but ends with 3 points for the Arsenal

i think we might revert back to the 4-4-1-1 we had in the championship with nolan dropping off the striker

I agree with the teamsheet BUT why is Jonas getting so much stick from a lot of supporters? He was one of the better ones against Fulham and the only one who actually got into their half with the ball and did a pretty good job keeping it their. I for one would but Ben Arfa as second striker or as a right winger when he returns, why break up Jonas and Enriques good partnership on the left? Look at the last three games and watch where we attacked, down the left flank. Bartons crossing is far superior but Jonas do a good job in keeping the ball so other players can get in position. Give the man a break, i think you would notice his importance the match he does not play, especially when our "long balls to Andy" tactic is nomore. Or maybe I know nothing about footballl =)! Howay the lads either way!

    I'd play:

    Harper
    Williamson, Campbell, Colo, Enrique
    Barton, Tiote, Guthrie, Jonas
    Nolan
    Ranger

I don't rate Simpson but he'll definitely play so swap him for Campbell and put Williamson back in at centre back. We have to play Ranger over Best. Best was woeful at Fulham and Ranger has the unpredictability factor plus a bit of pace and the ability to beat a man. And he's much better in the air than Best too.

And please leave Guthrie out – he makes to many mistakes.
