If you were in Alan Pardew’s shoes tonight when Newcastle arrive in Stoke, who would you pick in your starting line-up for the game against the Potters? Would Papiss Cisse start after his two goals against Hull? How many of the Capital One Cup starters keep their place after their 3-2 win over Crystal Palace? Leave a comment below and have your say!

Here’s what I’ve come up with:

Krul

Janmaat – Williamson – Coloccini – Haidara

Colback – Tiote

Sissoko – Cabella – Gouffran

Cisse

I’d go with a 4-2-3-1 formation away from home, with two defensive midfielders protecting the back four. The three that missed the League Cup win would all return, while Remy Cabella can support Cisse up front as Sissoko may be better at tracking runs down Stoke’s left wing.

There is a case for Cisse and Riviere starting up front but I’d keep it safe before bringing the Frenchman off the bench later in the game.

Haidara would replace Dummett at left-back, as his pace can be a useful offensive weapon as well as defensive.
