Credit: Sky Sports If you were in Rafa Benitez’s shoes (perhaps for the final time) tomorrow, who’d make it into your starting XI for the visit of Spurs? Is there any point playing the players that have failed miserably throughout the season? Or is it time to play who we think will be at the club next year? We want to hear from you, so leave a comment below and have your say! Here’s what I think: Darlow Anita – Lascelles – Mbemba – Dummett Townsend – Shelvey – Colback – Ayoze Perez De Jong Mitrovic I’d make a few changes to the team, considering how bad some of the established players have been all season. There’s no room for Moussa Sissoko, Gini Wijnaldum or Daryl Janmaat (whether he’s fit or not), as they head for pastures new this summer. Jonjo Shelvey comes back into midfield in place of Cheick Tiote, while Siem de Jong gets a start in the number 10 role. I still feel as though he’s not been given a proper shot at making something of his Newcastle career. Mitrovic must start ahead of Papiss Cisse, and be supported from the flank by Ayoze Perez and Andros Townsend. As we know, it doesn’t matter if we win or lose this game. It’s about creating an atmosphere that could go a long way to convincing Rafa Benitez to stay with the club for next season. If we make him stay, he’ll make players stay and we’ll come straight back into the top flight. This isn’t a game, it’s a display of affection for a manager who can bring the club back to the Premier League.
