If you were in Alan Pardew’s shoes for the trip to Manchester City tomorrow, who would you pick in the Newcastle team to take on the Cup champions. Who would play up front in Cisse’s absence? Which formation will suit playing against the Premier League champions the best? Let us know below and have your say! Here’s what I think: Krul R.Taylor – S.Taylor – Coloccini – Haidara Cabella – Sissoko – Abeid- Ameobi Armstrong – Ferreyra I’d go with a 4-4-2 formation that worked in the second half against Tottenham. Remy Cabella and Sammy Ameobi changed the game against Spurs and would start on the wings, with Sissoko continuing in the centre of midfield – his best position. Up front is the real problem, with Perez set to be rested for the weekend game against Liverpool. Facundo Ferreyra is yet to kick a ball for the first team but I’d start him and see what he’s about in a game Newcastle aren’t expected to win. His partner would be Adam Armstrong, who played excellently against Palace in the last round and made two assists. I’d also include Ryan Taylor from the start. His set pieces could be key against a City side that have looked vulberable from corners and free-kicks all season. What do you think? Leave a comment in the box below and have your say!
