If you were in Alan Pardew’s shoes tomorrow evening when Newcastle take on Burnley at Turf Moor, who would make your starting XI? Who plays in midfield in the absence of Moussa Sissoko and Jack Colback? Which formation is best? Who covers at right-back if Daryl Janmaat isn’t available? Leave a comment below and have your say!

Here’s what I’ve come up with:

Elliot

Dummett – S.Taylor – Williamson – Haidara

Cabella – Tiote – Anita – Ameobi

Perez – Cisse

With all the injuries and suspensions hampering team selection, the formation must change. Vurnon Anita and Cheick Tiote are the only fit centre midfielders available so they will play in the middle, with the formation changing to a 4-4-2.

Two strikers will cause Burnley a lot of problems, with the movement and pace of Perez added to the extra problem of Papiss Cisse. Having two wingers supply the front pairing will also stretch a potentially vulnerable Burnley defence.

The back four is also problematic but Paul Dummett filling in at right-back is probably the best option, with Steven Taylor coming in alongside Mike Williamson at centre-back.
