If you were in John Carver’s shoes tomorrow, who would be in your starting XI to take on Burnley at St James’ Park? Who replaces Papiss Cisse up front? Does Yoan Gouffran keep his place in the side? Which formation is best against a stubborn Burnley side? We want to hear from you, so leave a comment below and have your say!

Here’s what I’ve come up with:

Alnwick

Janmaat – S.Taylor – Coloccini – Haidara

Sissoko – Tiote – Colback

Cabella – Perez – Armstrong

I’d go with three up front at home to a weak opponent, with plenty of pace and skill up front. That’s why I’d choose Adam Armstrong to start on a wing, with Cabella coming back into the team at home and support the central striker Perez.

The midfield takes care of itself but I’d make two changes in defence, with Taylor replacing Williamson – who had a shocker against Burnley and in particular Danny Ings at Turf Moor.

I’d also pick Massadio Haidara over Paul Dummett at left-back as he is more suited to attacking play and can get forward quicker.
