If you were in Rafa Benitez’s shoes tomorrow, who would make your Newcastle starting XI to take on Swansea? Who plays right-back? Who gets the nod in midfield? Who leads the attack?

Here’s what I’ve come up with:

Darlow

Anita – Mbemba – Lascelles – Dummett

Sissoko – Saivet – Shelvey – Townsend

Mitrovic – Cisse

I’d go as attacking as possible against Swansea, with two strikers up front and Moussa Sissoko back in his right midfield position.

Cisse has an excellent record against the Swans so should start, and Mitrovic is also improving.

Gini Wijnaldum would drop out because he doesn’t get on the ball enough to affect anything, despite possessing the ability to.

The defence is a shambles, but the back five I’ve picked are no worse than any available, with Kevin Mbabu also closing in on a return to potentially take the right back slot.

Anita done well there for the short period against Sunderland so I’d choose him, and Steven Taylor would be nowhere near the team after his performances of late.
