If you were in Alan Pardew’s shoes when Swansea arrive in town today, who would be in your starting XI to take on the Welsh side? Who starts up front for the misfiring Geordies? Which formation suits Newcastle best? Leave a comment below and have your say!

Here’s what I’ve come up with:

S.Taylor – Williamson – Coloccini

Debuchy – Anita – Tiote – Gosling – Dummett

Remy – Cisse

Seeing as Newcastle haven’t got enough wide players to field two full-backs and two wingers, a 3-5-2 formation could work against Swansea. It didn’t work against Stoke last week but with the added presence of Debuchy, Newcastle will have more of a chance of it working. Debuchy is a natural wing-back who will get forward plenty and provide ammo for Remy (providing both pass fitness tests).

Dan Gosling has a chance to impress in midfield and the extra man in the middle will help against Swansea, who like to keep the ball and frustrate opponents.

I’d play Cisse up front with Remy because if he’s provided with the chances, he will score goals. There’s been nothing for him to feed off of late, meaning his return of two league goals all season was hardly likely to improve.
