Newcastle boss Alan Pardew told the press that his side face a tough match when we face Crystal Palace this afternoon.

Pardew, a former Palace player will again absent from the match as he continues to serve his ban.

He told the press: “I don’t think anybody really saw there was a great opportunity for Tony (Pulis) going in there (taking over as Crystal Palace manager). There as only Tony’s confidence and ability (which) has pulled that team to within a fighting chance (of avoiding relegation). Because they now have a fighting chance of staying up and they’ll be showing that on the pitch. They were very good at Sunderland. Very resilient.”
