Newcastle have confirmed their full pre-season plans for this summer and will have eight warm-up games before the new Premier League campaign kicks off on August 16.

The Magpies will travel to Oldham Athletic, Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield Town before hosting an as yet unnamed European club at St James’ Park a week before the new season begins.

Pre-season begins with a game against Oldham at Boundary Park on Tuesday 15th July, before the Magpies fly to New Zealand to play two A-league teams in the Southern Hemisphere.

After returning from the other side of the world, the Geordies will take on Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on 30th July before jetting off to Germany to take part in the inaugural Schalke Cup alongside Schalke 04, West Ham United and Malaga on the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd of August.

Alan Pardew’s side then take on Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium on 5th August before hosting an unnamed European side the following weekend (the 9th or 10th).
