Newcastle duo James Tavernier and Haris Vuckic are heading to Wembley – to try and secure promotion to the Championship for Rotherham United.

The pair have been on loan at the New York Stadium this season, helping the Millers to a third-place finish in League 1. Rotherham seen off Preston North End in the playoff semi-final and will face Leyton Orient in the Wembley final on May 25.

Tavernier set up top scorer Kieran Agard for Rotherham’s third goal of a 3-1 win over Preston last night and has earned many plaudits for his fine form this campaign. The right-back has scored five goals and made 30 appearances so far this season.

Vuckic has been more of a bit-part player for Steve Evans’ side, making most of his 25 appearances from the bench in the later stages of games. The Slovenian international has scored four goals for the South Yorkshire side.

The pair will be hoping to round off their loan spell in style at Wembley and help Rotherham into the Championship.
