Newcastle United will play Leicester City in the FA Cup Third Round.

The tie will be played over the weekend of January 3rd and 4th at the King Power Stadium.

Alan Pardew’s side will be hoping to make it past the 3rd round for the first time in three attempts, after their participation was ended by Cardiff City last year and Brighton the year before.

The teams have already met once this season, when Gabriel Obertan scored at St James’ Park to earn Newcastle their first league win of the season.

Alan Shearer drew his old side out of the hat and also played his part in drawing arguably the standout tie of the round, a repeat of last season’s final as holders Arsenal host Hull.

Non-league sides Blyth Spartans and Gateshead avoided each other in the 64-team draw, with Blyth hosting Championship side Birmingham City while Gateshead face top flight opposition in West Brom.
