Remie Streete has been recalled from his loan at League One side Port Vale after injuries to Steven Taylor and Fabricio Coloccini.

The 20-year-old centre-back had been enjoying his time at Vale Park and had made three appearances since joining on an initial one-month loan before extending it until January.

However, a calf injury to Coloccini in the game against West Brom last weekend has left Alan Pardew short of options in defence. Mike Williamson made his first appearance in four games when he replaced Coloccini at the Hawthorns, while Taylor is expected to return against QPR later this month.

Streete is yet to make a senior appearance for Newcastle since joining the Magpies as a 14-year-old.
