After Wilfried Bony’s injury time penalty clinched it for Swansea, here are the Newcastle match ratings from yesterday’s 1-2 defeat at St James’ Park.

Tim Krul, 7 – Made an excellent one on one save against Bony in the second half and was unable to blamed for any of the goals.

Fabricio Coloccini, 6 – Better from the Argentina international than recent weeks but unable to stop Emnes in the box in the incident leading to the penalty.

Mike Williamson, 5 – Struggled to handle the physically dominant Bony and lost him for the first Swansea goal.

Paul Dummett, 6 – Relatively quiet but looks to be settling into first team football well.

Vurnon Anita, 6 – Cisse’s injury spared him from another demoralising stint at right wing-back but looked tidy in midfield.

Cheick Tiote, 5 – Silly challenge to give away the penalty. Cost his team two points.

Dan Gosling, 7 – Impressive in midfield, never giving Swansea time on the ball and almost scoring with a volley.

Yoan Gouffran, 5 – Again anonymous on the left wing, couldn’t get himself into any attacks and was unnoticeable.

Luuk de Jong, 5 – Nice link up play with Ameobi before being injured.

Shola Ameobi, 6 – Took his goal well but was otherwise toothless.

Papiss Cisse, N/A – Injured too early to warrant a rating.

SUBS: Mathieu Debuchy, 7 – Gave the team more balance and threat down the wing when he came on.

Loic Remy, 6 – Looked slightly off the pace but still got involved and made more chances than any of his team mates.

Adam Armstrong, N/A – Only on for ten minutes but the local lad will remember every second for the rest of his life.
