After Manchester United cruised to victory on Saturday against a poor Newcastle side, here are the player ratings for the Magpies from the 0-4 stuffing.

Rob Elliot, 7 – Probably the only one to come out of the game with any credit, the Irish goalkeeper made a few good saves but was unable to keep David Moyes’ side at bay.

Davide Santon, 4 – Just doesn’t convince at either right or left back, Juan Mata enjoyed drifting wide and beating him, while Adnan Januzaj had a field day.

Mike Williamson, 5 – Starting to look vulnerable at the back

Fabricio Coloccini, 4 – Terrible mistake for one of the goals and the defence lacks organisation, something he should provide. Looks like he’s on holiday already.

Massadio Haidara, 5 – Feel sorry for him trying to break into the team while those around him play so poorly.

Vurnon Anita, 4 – Didn’t do anything noteworthy as he was played out of position on the right of midfield. Terrible management by Alan Pardew.

Cheick Tiote, 5 – Couldn’t handle Mata all afternoon. Unsure whether he was supposed to be man marking the Spaniard but if he was instructed to, he did a poor job.

Dan Gosling, 4 – Surprising choice by Pardew over the more talented Anita but did OK considering the match he was thrown into. Made the foul for Mata’s free kick.

Papiss Cisse, 6 – Tried his best all afternoon and was unlucky with a header in the first half. Never going to score without service.

Luuk de Jong, 4 – Seems to be going backwards. Struggled to get involved at all and will have to do something special to earn a permanent move this summer.
