Goals from Ross Barkley, Romelu Lukaku and Leon Osman sent Newcastle crashing to a 0-3 home defeat last night, here are our player ratings from the game:

Tim Krul, 6: Made a good early save from Lukaku. Cannot be blamed for the goals that he conceded.

Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, 5: Started off well but again faded and couldn’t handle the threat that faced him, whether it was Gerard Deulofeu or Ross Barkley.

Fabricio Coloccini, 6: Untimely slip for Barkley’s wonder goal.

Mike Williamson, 6: Struggled with Lukaku’s all-round game and was unable to stop him for the Belgian’s goal.

Paul Dummett, 5: Couldn’t handle Deulofeu on the right and was unable to get forward thanks to Everton’s high pressing.

Moussa Sissoko, 6: Carried most of the threat for Newcastle. Couldn’t provide the strikers with good enough service to score though.

Cheick Tiote, 7: Played well in the middle but was victim of the numbers game. Everton’s extra midfielder made him less effective.

Vurnon Anita, 4: Shocking miss from Ben Arfa’s cut back.

Yoan Gouffran, 4: Desperately out of form, summed up with his fresh air shot in the first half.

Luuk de Jong, 5: Hooked off early again as he struggles for form. Can’t get into games physically or tactically.

Papiss Cisse, 6: Actually done OK. Some good runs off the ball but the service wasn’t there for him. Looked frustrated after his goal at the weekend filled him with confidence.

SUBS: Hatem Ben Arfa, 8: Best player Newcastle have in terms of opening up defences. Showed it when he beat three in the Everton box but then passed to Anita and we all know the rest.

Sylvain Marveaux and Shola Ameobi, N/A: Not enough time to make an impact.
