Newcastle United have completed the signing of Dutch right-back Daryl Janmaat.

The former Feyenoord man – who turns 25 next week – has signed a six-year contract at St James’ Park and joins for a fee believed to be around £5m.

Janmaat is a replacement for Arsenal-bound Mathieu Debuchy, who is expected to be unveiled by the Gunners later today.

The new man was part of Holland’s World Cup squad that finished third in Brazil last weekend and he made five appearances along the way – all from the substitute’s bench.

Janmaat becomes Newcastle’s fifth summer signing after Jack Colback, Ayoze Perez, Siem de Jong and Remy Cabella joined ahead of the new season.
