Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko is reportedly close to joining French champions PSG. The 25-year-old has been said to be “in advanced talks” with Laurent Blanc’s side, who swooped for Yohan Cabaye from Newcastle this time last season. The fee is said to be around the £20m mark but Newcastle have today denied any agreement has been reached between the two clubs. Sissoko was present in training today. Unlike when PSG made an offer for Cabaye, Sissoko has shown no desire to leave Newcastle in this transfer window and pledged his allegiance to the Magpies just before Christmas. That’s almost the exact opposite of Cabaye, who wanted to leave St James’ Park as soon as he heard a sniff of interest from his homeland. With 24 days of the transfer window remaining, an owner who is willing to sell his prize assets at the peak of their value, no manager and a desperate need for new players, it’s going to be a long month.
