Newcastle United are being linked with a move for Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair.

The former Swansea man has endured a torrid time since swapping Wales for the Etihad, struggling with injuries for the most-part of his two year spell and making just 11 league appearances.

But Newcastle may be willing to offer the wannabe England international a way out; as they continue to be linked with a double raid for the 25-year-old and his City team mate Micah Richards.

Sinclair has been involved in City’s pre-season this year, scoring on their tour of America but missing out of the squad that beat Newcastle 2-0 in the Premier League opener.

A fee of around £5m has been talked about but a loan spell may also be an option.

Any move for the winger could signify Alan Pardew’s faith in his current crop of wingers, with Gabriel Obertan and Rolando Aarons’ impressive pre-season performances earning them substitute appearances against the Premier League champions at the weekend.
