James Tavernier was the stand-out Newcastle loanee this week, as the right-back scored both goals in Rotherham United’s 2-1 win over Bristol City. Tavernier’s first was a 30-yard screamer to give the Millers the lead before he added a free-kick in the second half to win it for the Millers. Tavernier now has an impressive five goals to his name this campaign as Rotherham push for promotion.

Haris Vuckic also got on for Rotherham, playing the last ten minutes for Steve Evans’ side.

Birmingham City were beaten at home to Bournemouth but Shane Ferguson didn’t get on. The Northern Ireland winger has been in and out of Lee Clark’s side this season and was an unused sub in the 2-4 loss.

Adam Campbell and Conor Newton started for St. Mirren as they drew 2-2 with Inverness in the SPL. Campbell played 64 minutes before being replaced and Newton lasted the full 90 minutes as the Buddies kept up their fight against relegation.

Mehdi Abeid came on as a substitute in Panathanaikos’  0-0 draw away to Atromitos and was booked in his 35 minute cameo.

Romain Amalfitano played 84 minutes in Dijon’s 1-1 draw with Arles on Friday night. Dijon were 1-0 up when our man was substituted and watched from the bench as Arles scored a 90th minute equaliser.

Curtis Good missed Dundee United’s draw with Aberdeen through injury, while Jonas Gutierrez sat out Norwich’s 3-0 defeat at Swansea.
