James Tavernier and Haris Vuckic were involved in Rotherham United’s latest victory this weekend, as the Millers edged Port Vale 1-0 in League 1. Rotherham went down to ten men early in the game but a 90 minute shift from Tavernier helped them on their way to a win that keeps them in the playoff positions, while Vuckic was replaced at half-time. Shane Ferguson was left out of the Birmingham City squad that lost to Blackburn on Easter Monday, as the Northern Irishman struggles to impress former Newcastle player Lee Clark. The Blues are now just above the relegation zone in the Championship and a 4-2 battering at the hands of Blackburn was not helpful. In Scotland, Conor Newton and Adam Campbell had a winning weekend at St. Mirren, as the Buddies beat Hibernian 2-0 at Fir Park. Newton played the full game, while Campbell was again an unused sub. Mehdi Abeid further enhanced his reputation with a goal for Panathanaikos in their cup win over OFI. Abeid now has eight goals this season for the Greek giants. Jonas Gutierrez was an unused substitute for Norwich City, as Liverpool left Carrow Road with a 3-2 win on Sunday. Curtis Good remains sidelined with injury and was unable to play for Dundee United. Romain Amalfitano played the full game for Dijon as they were beaten 2-1 to AS Nancy in the French second division.
