Newcastle transfer target Pierre-Michel Lasogga will be playing for one of three clubs next season and the Magpies are one of the options.

The 22-year-old Hertha Berlin striker spent last season on loan at Hamburg and scored 13 times in 20 games for Mirko Slomka’s side.

Lasogga must now make the choice as to which club he joins next season, with both Hamburg and Newcastle interested in prising the Germany international away from the Olympic Stadium.

The 6’2” front man has reportedly travelled to Newcastle to check out the training ground and the stadium and is interested in making the move to Tyneside.

Newcastle must sign reinforcements up front, with Papiss Cisse injured and Shola Ameobi, Loic Remy and Luuk de Jong all departed. De Jong remains an option for the Geordies but the Dutchman’s asking price is too high, with Borussia Moenchengladbach wanting around £8m for the striker.
