Facundo Ferreyra opened his goal scoring account for Newcastle United on Monday night, as he netted in Newcastle’s under-21 clash with Bolton Wanderers. The Argentine striker was included in the squad as an overage player after missing the game against Manchester City with a slight injury and took just under half an hour to get off the mark for his new side. Ferreyra volleyed home the equaliser after Andy Kellett had put Bolton ahead, before being heavily involved in Newcastle’s second goal. The on-loan Shakhtar man was involved in a scruffy exchange at the back post following a corner and the goal was given as an own goal, with Ferreyra being congratulated by his team mates. Kellett then struck again for the home side instantly, before winger Chris Lester put Bolton back in front in the entertaining clash. Just before the interval, Newcastle once again levelled. This time it was Sammy Ameobi who grabbed the goal to earn his side a point. Ferreyra’s goal(s) will help the new man settle into life in England and the striker will now hope to be involved in Newcastle’s clash with Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.
