Newcastle midfielder Jack Colback has missed out on Roy Hodgson’s latest England squad for the upcoming European Championship qualifiers against San Marino and Estonia.

The 24-year-old had been rewarded for a fine start to the season with a call-up to the England team for the qualifier against Switzerland in September, only to be forced to withdraw with injury.

Colback has been ever-present for Newcastle this season but Hodgson has decided to look at other options, with Aston Villa’s Fabian Delph keeping his place and Swansea’s Jonjo Shelvey getting a maiden call-up.
