Newcastle striker Papiss Cisse has attracted interest from a number of Russian clubs, according to his agent.

Cisse impressed Anzhi Makhachkala during his goalscoring display for Newcastle during the Europa League clash last season. Following the loss of Demba Ba, if we were to lose Cisse as well then Pardew has to bring in two or three quality forwards to bolster our attack.

Russian newspaper Izvestia claims that Anzhi are ready to pay £15.4million for the Senegal international and offer him £50,000 a week in wages.

“Russian clubs have shown interest in Papiss at the same time, but I don’t want to name the names of the clubs as it wouldn’t be a correct step from me,” His agent Nickolay Guido told the media.

“Anzhi have the advantage that they could qualify for the Europa League and the Senegalese striker’s dream has been to show his qualities in Europe and it doesn’t seem possible with Newcastle in the near future,” he added.
