Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has said that his team’s performance simply “wasn’t good enough” as they lost 4-0 at home to Tottenham Hotspur.

It was a dire performance and we all expect better against Aston Villa, it will certainly be a make or break game.

Pardew told the press: “A tough night, really, in terms of what I was hoping to come out of the game. The performance wasn’t good enough, we got dominated from start to finish and we lost 4-0. That really summed it up.”

When asked ‘Can you afford to lose your key players…” he added: “No, I don’t think… I think it was more than that, tonight. I made my views very clear in the dressing room. That’s where they will stay. I’m not really going to say too much in front of you guys tonight, other than to give a message to our fans to say that, you know, that wasn’t good enough and at Aston Villa, they need to make sure it is good enough.”
