If you were in Alan Pardew’s shoes this afternoon, who would you pick for today’s game against Reading? Who replaces Fabricio Coloccini and Yohan Cabaye? Leave a comment below and have your say!

Here’s what I’ve come up with:

Harper

Perch Williamson S. Taylor Santon

Anita Tiote Gutierrez

Ben Arfa Cisse Ba

I’d go with the same back five that played against Norwich last week, with Steve Harper continuing in goal behind the only four fit senior defenders we have. In truth, they shouldn’t be overrun with the strength of Reading’s attack, although if Williamson turns in another performance like he did in midweek, anything could happen.

Anita should replace the injured Cabaye, with Tiote anchoring the midfield in the middle of Gutierrez and the former Ajax man.

Same front three that usually works and the same plan of give the ball to Ben Arfa, who will undoubtedly be relishing the thought of running at Ian Harte all afternoon.

I'm sure Santon's best position is right back, Perch is better than Williamson, Bigi andTiote can dominate the midfield allowing the other 4 forwads the freedon to do some damage.
