Sir Alex confirms Heinze to leave
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Gabriel Heinze wants to leave the Premiership champions.
The Argentinian international has been linked with moves to Liverpool, Newcastle, Real Madrid and Barcelona in previous weeks, but no firm offer has been made as of yet.
The left-back lost his place in United’s starting line-up to Patrice Evra last season, and it appears as if he’s ready to leave, rather than fight for his place.
“Gaby’s agent has advised us that he wants to move on,” said Ferguson.
“I am not too sure about that and we do not have a concrete offer from any particular club.
“But there is some momentum regarding the player’s next move in terms of through his agent, even if nothing is close at this moment in time.”
Heinze joined United from Paris Saint Germain in a £6.9million deal three years ago.
