Jenas linked with £5m Newcastle return
News | admin | May 21, 2010 at 11:24 am
The Sun are reporting that Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas could be set for a return to Newcastle United.
The England international has found himself mostly confined to a bench role at White Hart Lane and is being tipped to leave the Champions League qualifiers this summer.
Jenas left Newcastle in the summer of 2005 for £7million after apparently claiming that he was living “in a goldfish bowl”.
According to the report, Newcastle are planning to offer £5million to add some Premier League experience to the midfield ahead of the new campaign.

no thanks
Utter, utter, utter garbage. It will never happen.
No thanks JJ
for 1. hes sh1te
2. he had his chance to prove himself at St James and FAILED
3. AND IF ITS IN THE SUN WELL IT MUST BE TRUE…….NOT
This will NOT happen!
1. We have no money
2. Tottenham will want more than £5million for him so even if we did have some money he would be out of our price range
3. Why would Jenas swap Champions League football for a scrap for survival?
4. He wanted to get away calling the club a “goldfish bowl” which did not go down well with the fans
i can come up with a better story than this
hes piss poor
I have to admit, I like the though of jj rejoining us. I through he was pretty good when with us previously. he adds a bit of energy in the middle something we desperatly lack. If we can get the deal done, do it. I’m sure a lot of fans will forgive the goldfish bowl comment should he turn in some good performences.
yes good enough for a team in the top 4 and for england but not good enough for us according to most muppetts asked in a survey.
stop looking so short term and huffy and look at the facts is he better than what we have in that position.
obviously so
the fact is we probably cant afford him despite having the thirs highest crowds in the country. We should be asking why not running down players and we need to stop being so short sighted as to how good he is, sure hes no pele but hes better than what we have.
I remember people complaining about milner — he cant cross a ball whinge whinge
next season will be a hard slog for some fans they will have to resit calling for the manager when we are in the bottom half and others should see a player like JJ would help us stay up.
Could'nt agree more with b.b The fact is noone was happy when he came out with the infamous goldfish bowl comment, but we're in no position to be picky. If he was available for 5m it would be a bargain but we still probably wouldnt be able to afford him, which is a shame, because when he was last playing on a regular basis for spurs he was outstanding
not a chance ! Huddleston on the other hand yes please !!!
HE WAS RUBBISH AND STILL IS……………….. WOULDNT PSSS ON HIM IF HE WAS ON FIRE.
Champions league? Bench warmer at best. Jenas is a lightweight. For the money Spurs MIGHT ask for him, there are better options. Glad when he left, Be happy if he stays away.
Ahem……………………WE HAVE NO MONEY!!!!!
