Obafemi Martins is ready to sign a new deal at Newcastle United.

The Nigerian international striker has revealed that he is currently in talks with the new contract said to not include any release-clauses, like his current deal

Martins has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, but the 22-year-old is only focused on scoring goals for the Toon.

“We are talking, that is all I can say for now,” said Martins.

“Like I told you before, all I knew about the Arsenal thing was what I saw in the media.

“I am a Newcastle player and my part is to score goals for Newcastle and I am happy to be doing that.”
